This structure was designed as a temporary canopy installed over the entrance steps to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. It comprises 208, 1m long traffic cones, made especially in white plastic. Each cone weighs about 9kg so in total there are almost 2 tonnes of cones suspended from a cable net which itself is fixed at each corner to a slender steel frame. The whole installation was designed to avoid the need to fix either to the building or to the pavement and the entire design, fabrication and installation process was completed in just 6 weeks from start to finish.
